Jacob G. Light, MD will be joining Sound Retina in August 2024. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists.
Dr. Light is originally from the Twin Cities, MN, and is an avid musician who also enjoys running, outdoor activities, and travel. He completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Italian Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
He completed his medical degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He remained at Johns Hopkins for his Ophthalmology residency training at the Wilmer Eye Institute, earning the Inaugural Nicholas T. Iliff, M.D. & Sharon Kress Excellence in Patient Care Award.
He trained as a Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellow at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA before returning to Johns Hopkins where he is currently serving as the Assistant Chief of Service of the Wilmer Eye Institute, managing complex ocular trauma and retinal disease while teaching and mentoring Hopkins residents and fellows.
Dr. Light is thrilled to be moving to the Pacific Northwest this summer and is looking forward to joining the Sound Retina team in providing high quality retina care to the surrounding community.

whom completed two-year medical and surgical retina fellowships. Our entire team is dedicated to providing our patients with the most
